He specifically said he focuses on making the best songs possible, but if they happen to be successful, then that's great. Good for him, for having the musical integrity to keep making good music instead of going the David Guetta route and making guaranteed hits every time.
Artists love to use that sentence. It's one of the fakest things to say.
