You don't think they should let the song build up on radio, before releasing the video?

That would work for ''real'' pop acts.
But she's basically ''new' to pop radio. So if the video could bring hype the same day or week it's send it will get more adds and more hype going for it, kinda like Zendaya's replay i guess..
Or they could send it after it's sent for adds but not much after (1-2 weeks imo)

So about the OD video, I'm thinking something with a storyline. Follow me girls...
Ciara plays herself as a committed patient in some random psych ward. The imagery of the ward should be somewhere between Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory and Katy's California Girls. Playful, bright & girly.
The video opens w/ random past moments of Ci & a love interest who, due to editing & a surprise twist, can't yet identify (no audio). Then the moments become darker as they transition from happier to darker and more tense. (Still No Audio).
Finally in a dark room resembling an office, we see a framed photo of falling to the floor before breaking. (Song intro starts)
1st verse:
We see a slightly dazed & unnerving Ci with wild, bushy, untamed hair & stunning make-up sitting in a common area of the colorful ward. She is restrained by some eccentric, yet high fashion straight-jacket as she sings the 1st verse. The other patients around her are all acting as you'd expect in a psych ward.
Chorus:
Ci's crush Doctor X (Ci's personal psychologist) is accompanied by a nurse as they escort Ci and the others to their cells. She flirts, fights, exclaims, laughs, cries (basically displaying an wide array of emotions further implying her unstable mental state). (chorus ends)
2nd verse + 2nd chorus:
Now locked in her private cell / padded room, Ci is released from her straight jacket. The room is brightly lit & composed of 3 soft pillow padded walls, padded floor & ceiling (each surface being a different color). The fourth wall where the room's entrance is located is made completely of plexiglass (making it easier for doctors to look in & providing a edgier, cleaner look conceptually). This becomes the performance scene, as Dr. X looks in on his patient & records her behavior. Ci uses this time to perform for her crush. She is joined by 2 nurses, does a small bit of choreo and places herself in some amazing contortions as she shows off her unmatched flexibility. This last until the end of the 2nd chorus.
Bridge:
Its the end of the day & Ci is escorted to the private office of Dr. X for some 1 on 1 evaluation. She lays seductively on the infamous psychologist chair. In the middle of her evaluation the (bridge ending final chorus approaching, the audio stops abruptly) Dr. X approaches Ci. Ci stands. They look into each others eyes. Dr. X loses it and begins kissing Ci all over. Suddenly flashes of the same memories that began the video return. Ci is confused. She can see & feel these moments yet doesn't remember having lived them. As she scans his office, she notices a picture of her and the dr. She breaks from his embrace and approaches. As she stares at the photo it all comes rushing back. They were once together....OUTSIDE of the ward. Then after an argument of reasons unknown they weren't. She was leaving him. But somehow the good dr made her forget who she was and has since held her captive here. With her back turned to him suddenly Ci feels a sharp pain in her arm. She drops the frame to the floor. Dr. X has drugged her once again with what can only be thought of as some memory suppression. She falls helplessly into his arms. (Music resumes now at the final chorus).
She is back in her straight jacket. Having lost all memory of the events prior and sitting in the facilities corridor w/the other patients.
BASICALLY she falls in love with the dr, crushes on him, pursues him, gets him & falls out of love, everyday.

I like it but i'm afraid the budget it would require to realize this would be too huge. I was thinking about minimal extras and props, putting the focus on choreography, simple but sexy looks and lights. Kind of what she did with Promise and/or Speechless.

The Moses of the Squad

I don't see what's so bad about sending the song to urban early.
Urban will be the hardest format for OD to chart so early airplay is plus imo.
