There are different strata of social privilege. Pointing out that others exist (when nobody even denied that fact) as a means to minimize legitimate concerns seems unnecessary.
Can a gay American not talk about straight privilege while advocating for equal marriage rights?
Or a white woman not acknowledge the very real existence of male privilege?
Like, you can acknowledge the blessings you have while still remaining aware of the social disadvantages that come with your identity/background at the same time.
