Honestly, if it wasn't for her arrest, I don't think that her label was planning on releasing this anytime soon. Or her album. The dates would have come and gone, and we'd receive another essay from Sky about why she can't release anything.
I wonder if it's harder to rush release stuff on European iTunes versus American iTunes? I've always wondered why singles are sometimes available in the U.S. much sooner than Europe (other than promotional reasons).

It depends on their european labels and the countries' individual way of releasing.
Let's take the UK. They release the first single 1 week before the album gets released.

That's always made me laugh. We'll get a single in early September, and they'll get it in late November.

I think it is harder because European iTunes stores are subordinate to the US and there work less people. So if an American artist rushes a release and puts something out earlier than planned, the US store instructs the other stores to release it, too. And it simply takes longer to execute. But still, I want me some Sky now!

Yeah it's a messy way. But it seems to work there apparently. That's why the UK usually has many short hits unlike the US who has a few hits but with longevity.
