I just bought this on Tuesday and watched it last night. Ummmmm, it was okay. It wasn't that funny but the plot was kind of cool with how it went back in time and there were 5 million Fry's and Bender's. Overall I give the first feature movie a 7/10. Maybe even a 6. It started off horrible, within the first 30 minutes at least. It was just hard to watch. But after that, it was actually quite decent.
I really enjoyed it. I thought all the callbacks to past Futurama episodes were awesome, and I personally thought there wasn't a dull moment. great plot, great humor, great musical numbers, it was all I could of asked for.
I think the next three movies could be even better though, cause they won't feel the need to put in every character from the show in the movies. I assume they'll be more like a longform Futurama episode as opposed to Bender's Big Score which I think could of worked well theatrically in that it gets in as many past characters and callbacks to episodes as they can to satisfy the fans who had to suffer such a long wait.
^yep, there is going to be three more movies. Beast With A Billion Backs, Bender's Game, and The Wild Green Yonder. no release dates are set for any of them, but they should all be coming out at different times next year.
Comedy Central next year will then split the movies into 16 episodes, and air them throughout the year. any plans for the series beyond that is a mystery, but i'm sure there will be either more movies or more episodes on Comedy Central.
