How is that the point? This isn't a popularity contest.

The argument was that "iOS devices can't be customized" but they can, and have been able to since iOS 4. You install extensions from the app store and it can be done. Or you create your own extensions and make the phone how you like to have it.

100M people have downloaded it from Google Play. Cool. Much more than iOS users who prefer to keep their phone how they bought it. Which was my original point, people buy iPhone's for the experience, not the features.

The same reason why Mac's are on the rise. The experience is preferred. I think Mac OS almost has less customization than iOS.

That's the point though. Launcher apps are ****. If you want to customize Android you do the real deal. Launchers just "launch" over the top of the original homescreen like a cover. (Similar to Dreamboard themes to Jailbreak users).

You're basically having a homescreen running on top of the homescreen.

That's why custom Android themes and Winterboard themes that actually change the way the OS works are so much better than Launchers and Dreamboard themes.

Well, uh, no because you set only the custom launcher to run instead of the default launcher on android. The default launcher process is terminated.

Themes are just good usages of Nova launcher and UCCW usually. I think you're misunderstanding terms.

I've only used free ones and when I pull down the notifications menu I can see my original home screen behind the animations etc. Same with multitasking etc.

Premium ones might work better.

The Kindle Fire's launcher has sometimes failed and behind the carousal icons you can see Android stock icons behind them.

You can hack themes onto your device without using launchers though.

But anything is better than Go Launcher ><

At the end of the day, both Android can iOS can be customized so there isn't a need to argue.

You can install tweaks, themes directly using sites like iCustom etc. And install themes using iOS apps.
The App store has a very basic themes, but there are tweaks you can install from the internet that change Animations, Features and Design for eg. http://blackorbstheme.com/

Android also has themes on the Google store and themes that can also be installed from the internet.

Both phones can be personalized. Android just is built better for it. That doesn't mean iOS users can't do it if they wish. It took me less than a minute to install the iOS theme I just linked you to It's one I use on my iPod Touch.

Then you have a bad ROM or messed up your settings. What you're describing doesn't happen with any launchers I know of, including free ones. And I've used most of them

My Note 2 is great. I just installed two themes and the first one was stretched to fit my screen and the second had the faults that I listed. I'll get the theme names for you

The only devices that'll be getting 4.4 first are the Nexus devices. The S3 and S4 will also receive 4.4 but they haven't even received 4.3 so you'll be waiting a long time.

I really like it tbh. It looks nicer and more refined.
