Backstreet Boys lasted 5 years...Nsync lasted 5 years...Debbie Gibson lasted 5 years...New Kids on the Block lasted 5 years.

5 years of popularity isn't a long time and is basically the cut off point for most teen pop stars.

Both will fade soon.

.... 5 years is plenty and none of those listed artists were fads.

Nelly Furtado lasted less than 5 years. Destiny's Child was only relevant for about 5 years.

5 years is average for MOST artists. That doesn't make them fads.




Look back at the charts from 5 years ago and only a scant handful of artists who were active then are relevant now. I guess they were all tween fads.

Justin, because he's generally the better musician. And how is he fading? just because he hasn't released music yet doesn't mean he's fading. He's currently on a sold out world tour, and has played stadiums and sold them out. Please don't say he's fading, there is a difference between ''he is fading'' and wanting him to fade. lol

Bieber.

well u know how it is with groups. sooner or later the solo career kicks in. idk. i think as long 1d sells well they will be together. and justin well... he said he wants a career as long as madonna's. so. we'll see.

1D will break up soon so maybe Justin

One Direction seems more stable now in regards to their professional lives as well as personal lives, but boy bands fade faster so I'm gonna say that Justin will last longer, only because he is a solo artist. Boy bands rely on momentum, once that momentum is gone, they are over. Solo artists fade slower, but with boy bands it's faster, one day they are on top of the world and the next they are over.

I give Justin one more big era before he fades too much. Then he'll probably take a break and release albums again, but they'll probably just go top 5/10 instead of #1.

One Direction will probably breakup within the next year or two, and Harry will probably go solo.

Bieber's. No one cares about One Direction that much anymore.

JB because 1D is a boy band... And boy bands usually don't last long

One Direction are obviously bigger at the moment. It's kind of good timing with Justin having a "dip" in his career and so in a few years I feel like One Direction will fade with Justin coming back out on top. Boy bands never last long. So I'll go with Justin, but one of the 1D members could definitely go solo and have some success outside of the group. Overall, I will have to go with Justin.
