It seems that they just recreate the same games over and over again. Pokemon would be the ultimate example of this, now on generation 17 or w/e they still release practically the same game over and over again with different Pokemon. Every generation there is always a new Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mario Party etc. which are basically the same concept with new levels, races, maps, etc. Their latest example of this would be Wii Sports Club which is the EXACT SAME game as Wii Sports, just released on the Wii U to try and help sales.

Their last original IP, that anyone might actually know, was Pikmin which was released over a decade ago. They haven't released a new IP franchise since and now seemingly continue to create the same games over and over again. The highest selling Wii U game for example is New Super Mario Bros U, the fourth installment in a series of Mario side scrollers which all are essentially the same game with mushroom platforms and enemies placed in different locations.
