James Arthur: 'One Direction are a marketing product'
Quote:
James Arthur has branded One Direction "a marketing product" during a Twitter rant.
The X Factor winner made the claim after an internet troll called his music "s**t" and highlighted that One Direction are the "highest grossing artists" to come from The X Factor.
James Arthur retweeted a compliment from a fan, which reads: "It's ironic that the lowest rating xfactor ever looks like to have produced its biggest star."
A Twitter user then replied: "Hate to be a buzz kill but one direction are the highest grossing artists around ATM - James is s**t x"
Responding to the remark, Arthur proceeded to message the Twitter user, branding One Direction a "marketing product" rather than musicians.

However, after the claims came to light, Arthur was quick to deny any animosity between himself and One Direction.
"Haha twitter rant attacking one direction..? Really?? The papers hate me lol I was argued with some know it all, I did not attack 1D #LOVE," he said.
"I like the 1D boys a lot they have been very supportive of me.. I merely said they are a huge marketing super power.. Which they are.."
@ the BACKTRACK after he got exposed. The weak-assedNESS of it all!
1D are actually a great band. Yes they do have a big marketing brand but James Arthur seems to be pressed that his career has gone down the toilet before it's even started. And why is that ? Not only does he have a lacklustre voice, no star quality or personality but his music sucks and he tries too hard and ends up being a disposable crappy indie/dubstep wannabe,
Ah James Arthur. I used to gig with the dude back when he was doing acoustic and karaoke nights. I mean I didn't perform with him but he was always around when I was gigging. He has developed a huge ego since his winnings on X Factor. His biggest hit was a cover but he could create far more complex and creative songs. He is nothing but a product himself now, so I don't know why he is going after One Direction for it. Bit hypocritical Arthur wouldn't you say? You can do better than this dude!
I don't have respect for anyone who leaves their band that were apart of who they were and what they did for X Factor. A ****** TV reality singing show where no creativity or musicianship is allowed.

He released just one single. The second one is not out yet.

He released music way before he went on X Factor but he was in a band. The James Arthur Band. And several bands before that. I should know, I knew the guy when he was in these bands.
