But she's always been hands on for her video treatments. Usually, the directors should respect that and try to incorporate both the artist and their ideas but lot of times, the label or the directors just can't compromise, leaving the artist to suffer.

Basically! Rihanna doesn't just stand there and let the director instruct her what to do. She has a say in everything, even in editing. That's why it really irks me every time I see someone saying she's a puppet. I'm like, this puppet is the executive producer of her past 4 albums. IDC but F them.
