I'm not a 3DS hater though I'm just a bit mad that Nintendo is using Pokemon as a reason for people to buy the 3DS

Can you blame them though, it's an amazing marketing strategy with the 3D Pokemon models. And they have made quite a great job trying to balance the hype and still have plenty of things to look for when the games are released.
I've always thought Gen 5 was a rushed mess anyway, it was when the DS era was coming to an end and the 3DS had already been released. But obviously they wanted to capitalize on the DS sales, again - can't blame them.
You can't tell me you honestly expected another Gen on the DS now, can you?

It would be a completely bad marketing strategy to release it on the DS. I mean many people thought BW2 would be released on the 3DS just because it was at its end in 2012. There is no point to release it on the last gen console when the new one was released 2 years ago.

Mess, no one would be here for that. As I said people move on, and it wouldn't look good on them to release it on an outdated (because it is) console, when they have sorted of done that once before.

I kinda did, at first. And so did many Pokemon fans
And yeah, can't really blame them. It's a great marketing strategy.

I need those 100's though.
But I'm not worried considering the game file size. It's gonna slay.

A lot more people already own a DS/DSi, they'd have no problem spending $40.00 on a new Pokemon game. The fact that you have to buy a 3DS to get the new Pokemon game, wouldn't you think that would affect the sales greatly?

Stop being delusional.
I honestly can't get around that idea though, it wouldn't make an OUNCE of sense, they have pretty stopped supporting the DS for quite some time already. Like.

This isn't only about game sales. GF is part of Nintendo so of course they try to boost the current system. That's how it works. The DS is outdated, with BW2 it was at its maximume, there is absolutely no point for releasing it on the DS just because more people have the DS.

It is surprising that they even released it on it last year. The graphics may not be bad but they are definitely outdated and not on the current standard

And the Pokemon games were never known for graphics anyways
The DS still has some milk left, they shoud've squeezed every last drop they could get from it.

I thought we were only talking about Pokemon here, and it would've been fine if they chose to release the latest one on the DS. There wouldn't have been much improvement in terms of graphics, but again, Pokemon was never famous for graphics anyways
Only legit reason I could see they'd choose to release it on the 3DS is to boost the 3DS sales (which I'll admit, is smart on Nintendo's part).

Mess. They released the 5th gen on the DS, while they could have released it on the 3DS too. We should be happy that we got 2 generations on the same handheld.
Nintendo knows where their buyers are, so obviously they're gonna release a new generation on a new console and promote the sh*t out of it
Edit: I see you finally came to that conclusion too

If you're talking about the whole "they'd choose to release it on the 3DS is to boost the 3DS sales" conclusion, then I never disagreed to that at the first place I was just arguing that releasing it on the DS would've been fine, and that's it's not really "outdated" yet.

Well, technically, the 3DS has a better system for greater amount of data on its carts. Just look at the game file size of 2GB reportedly needed for X/Y. That's something that the DS couldn't.
