I'm predicting around 15-17 mil WW when it's all said and done  The #'s could be so much higher though if it wasn't released in the 3DS 
EDIT: Scratch that, probably around 11 mil

...but when using Flareon, Vaporeon, Espeon and Leafeon you can fill those 4 spots with good moves and coverage, but all Jolteon has is an Electric move + Signal Beam, same for Glaceon with Ice Beam and Signal Beam

As in i doubt most people who would buy the game if it were for the prior system are going to go out and buy a 3DS for the new pokemon game (I am  )
So it will most definitely hurt the sales

There wouldn't be X and Y if they were going to release it on the DS. No way that it could handle those graphics + they need to innovate, no one is here for a 20 year run of the DS

I'm talking about sales though I'm not talking about the quality of the game (that's going to be subjective), but I'm talking about sales.
Plus, a game could still be pretty well even if graphics were pretty bad.

Oh it's true, Flareon does have Superpower. And Espeon Calm Mind, so their movepools are not that similar if we think about it, mess.
It's a shame they won't give more Electric Types in general more coverage, always the Thunderbolt + HP Ice bull****, the same with Ice. Idg how Ice doesn't get much Water moves to use, it's weird. At least electric is getting a small buff this Gen.

Well of course, but that's like saying Sony should have never released games for the PS3 since the PS2 is the best selling console ever. It doesn't make much sense to argue because people have to move on and - like Sorbet said - the franchise needs to evolve.

Whatever you want sis, but I like my Pokémon game to be fresh and not being stuck on 2004 handheld graphics.

Yeah, Ice will probably get a few nice boosts too, but I'm happy with the Electric and Poison buff they already announced

Honestly though, I feel like the games will be able to evolve even without being released on the 3DS. It makes the graphics better, I agree, but graphics aren't everything. They could still add nice features on the game.
I'm not a 3DS hater though I'm just a bit mad that Nintendo is using Pokemon as a reason for people to buy the 3DS

I agree + who really cares about how much the album will sell anyway, as long as it's not an outright flop, and that isn't happening since is a new-Gen Pokemon game, the acclaim is what matters the most, and I'm hoping for a few 10's here and there.
Well, hopefully, they have been paying Ice dust since forever, and now that I think about it, they have only revealed one new Ice Pokemon so far.

Wut? Where else should they put it on? On the outdated DS? People had no problem when Pokemon moved to the DS but the 3DS is a problem

Most Pokemon games besides the first and the second games got about 80-90. I don't think critical acclaim will be much of a problem tbh

Why not the DS? It's not that outdated, they just released a Pokemon game on it last year for God's sake When Diamond/Pearl was released, the Gameboy was completely dead. They HAD to release it on the DS.
