I don't get what's the big issue with "sounding american". A lot of british artists don't sing in their native accents and they don't get any criticism about that.

I don't disagree with her. She makes good points bringing up the fact that white artists have aped black music for decades, though she fails to mention how very few of those black artists were able to reach the level of acclaim as their white counterparts that stole their style. Though hip hop has perhaps shown a different trend.

Still, apart from the "retard" comment, I think she's refreshingly smart and well-spoken and I wish her the best.
