Ariana Grande: 'Mariah Carey comparison is a blessing'
Ariana Grande has responded to being compared by many to Mariah Carey.
The 'Baby I' singer was asked by Rolling Stone how it feels for her vocal range to be favourably compared to that of a legendary diva like Carey.
"It's a blessing to get the comparison. When you look at 'The Way' it's obvious, but I'm not worried about it," Grande said.
She continued: "It's a massive compliment; she's the greatest singer in the world, like literally, [she's in] The Guinness Book of World Records.
"It's an incredible compliment but it doesn't worry me, because when you listen to my album as a whole, you get to know me."
Grande also insisted that she feels no pressure to have a sexually suggestive image like many of today's most popular artists.
"I don't feel much pressure to fit in. I never have," she said. "I've always just wanted to do my thing. I have really good friends and good family and if I don't fit in somewhere else, I fit in at home.
She doesn't even sound that similar to Mariah tho tbh. I mean, I thought she did with The Way, but that's about it really. If you listen to her album you realize the comparisons are a bit of a reach.

Anyway, besides The Way and maybe Right There, her music isn't all that "Mariah" to me. She sounds like her sometimes but I don't think that's something she can change
