There is along history of Christianity, 2000 years that has changed the course of history. Unbiased instruction on all religions should be discussed. There are almost 7 billion people on this earth. Twenty years ago 6 billion. Forty years ago 4 billion. Fifty years ago over 3 billion. Seventy five per cent of these people believe there is a god. One hundred years ago there was nearly a billion people alive. They have all died by now. Just in the last 100 years there have been 10 billion people on this earth. Seven and a half billion have believed there was a god. Why should we ignore those numbers in our schools?
Or no?

Get out of school. School is school. If you want your religion to be taught to children, make your church the place to teach & let people to join on their free will. School is a place for all kinds of ppl, it's not only for ppl of your religion, there are ppl of other religions & nonreligious ppl too. You don't waste public funds on your purpose & don't waste the time of those who don't share your belief.
Yes. It should honestly be required that every student have 3-minute prayer sessions before every class, as well as have a mandatory period of Bible study every day. For advanced followers, they can get into the extremities of the Bible.
For my college it's REQUIRED we take an exploring religions class. The class is where we learn about ALL kinds of the most popular religions people study. It's great tbh.
Before I say no, I'd like to know what the mental benefits are to religion "classes," beyond generating a hive mentality based on fear and shame, rooted in draconian dogma. I say this having been in Catholic school all my life up until college.
Cultural, anthropological studies on various faiths and their sources and belief systems are an entirely different thing though. I'm here for that.
If the United States was found on the basis of religious freedom, then why should it be taught in school? I don't think it's the school's job to teach religion. That's something you learn at home and attain from your background.
Edit: I guess I'm ok with classes that teach the different forms of religion.
No no no no no no no!!!!!!!! At least not when you're teaching that "there's one right religion". My country wastes public money for this **** and all kids do is scream for an entire 1h 30 minutes a week. There's supposed to be "ethics" class as a replacement for the non-christians, but obv. there's no ethic's teachers. Keep the religion in temples, where it belongs.
And it's annoying, brainwashing and ****ing UNNECCESSARY.
