The US tend to be a bit slow picking up on the next big thing but better late than never, I guess. I'm so pleased for all her fans that the time has come for her to get the success in her homeland that she gets most other places but I'm even more pleased for those of us who have been there through the dark times in the early days when it seemed everyone's online obsession was to attack her personally. It seems like a massive vindication. There are of course those on here who predicted she would fade into obscurity and at least a couple of these pressed souls haven't forgiven her not proving their predictions anything other than ridiculous. Such is life.
"How many artists can you point to that have had this level of success using purely online and alternative methods of exposure?" Jackson asks. "No top 40 play, no Grammy nominations, no MTV Awards ... We're only now starting to see the mainstream acceptance of this, and we have a lot more to come."

^ I agree with this. I see too many silly threads on here like "Will Lana Del Rey happen?". She's already happened, even before Summertime Sadness. EVERYBODY knows her, she sold loads of albums. Some people here are too focused on charts, but really you can be successful and famous without having any chart hits.
