Dropping Siobhan for Heidi makes about as much sense as Tegan and Sara dropping Sara and replacing her with someone else. All 3 girls are together because they want to be together. They arranged this group themselves. It's not like when they were children and were being controlled by their management.
Secondly, just because one single happens to break through despite radio blacklisting doesn't mean that it's not an obstacle. That's not a good argument. Not to mention that Elephant was the lead single of Burke's album after her first which was a HUGE album for her. She was an established star who people were anticipating new material from. MKS aren't.
Thirdly, they released the single on Friday. The UK sales week is Sunday to Saturday. They only had 2 days of sales. That's not enough to compete against songs that have been available all week, even with promo.
