^Well every writer is under the union. The union represents them so they don't get screwed over with finance, health benefits etc, and in return when the union decides there will be a strike, the writers must stop working even though they may not agree with it.
As we speak, both sides of this strike are negotiating and trying to come to an agreement. Once they both decide on something, the strike is over and the reruns stop.
I know I hope this writers strike ends soon.This week is the last new Smallville I heard they are gonna air and then start airing reruns if the strike is still on so they better settle this soon,I'm loving this season's smallville and this strike is gonna screw it up.
the writers only get a nickel for every DVD that is sold, and the studio's run off with the majority of the money. the studio's say they need it because production costs are rising, but the writers still felt jipped, so they went on strike. But the potential range is MUCH more far reaching than simply SNL, late night talk shows and nearly every prime time show.
if the strike goes on into next summer, which it could, other groups in hollywood could join the strike, and all of hollywood (even films, not just TV) could come to a standstill...
and btw, i think i read somewhere that the stagehands on broadway quit and are on strike too, so a lot of musicals have had to shut down...
woke up at 3:30am
4:15am - picked up my friend and drove to circuit city
5:30am - went to old navy
6am - went to staples
6:30am - starbucks (umm early morning...caffiene kthx )
7:20am - arrived at mall of georgia
between 7:20am-1:30pm shopped alot lol
1:30pm - mickey d's
1:45pm - home & sleep
i got:
old navy jeans
4gb flash drive (the last one )
laptop tv tuner
fossil watch for mommy
shirt at hollister
... i worked... i opened a pallet that contained Portable DVD Players and a Digital Photo Frame... there was around 35 people surrounding it... it took me some time to get them out of my way to open it and when i did those people went crazy... i was scared for my life... it was funny though cause there was this man who jumped ontop of this lady i was like oh lord...
