He's not really globally relevant. He let his career in Europe and Asia and so on fall completely by the wayside just as it did in the mainstream US market.
Up until his mini-revival in Australia due to him being a judge on their version of The Voice he's been irrelevant everywhere but Latin America apart from the occasional blip but I think his people are trying to make a better effort to establish him as a worldwide act again. Something like this is a good idea as his last World Cup Song is fondly remembered.
