Charli XCX has teased details about her new single and next album.
The singer told Digital Spy that she plans to unveil the track - which she describes as a follow-up to the song she wrote for Icona Pop 'I Love It' - "very soon".
"I'm going on tour with Paramore at the end of September, so that's when I'll start playing it," she said. "The music video will be out in a couple of weeks... very soon hopefully.
"It's a mix of the Icona Pop track and takes inspiration from Bow Wow Wow, The Waitresses and The Flying Lizards and those Lolita-esque bratty French girls and other girl power heroines."
"I wrote the song the same week as 'I Love It'," she continued. "Let's just say I was in a similar mind frame! The video is also the best I've ever shot. It's a completely new vibe."
Discussing her new album, which she plans to release in March 2014, she said: "The songs are quite shouty and bratty. It's more live and less intimate. The songs are very pop with a bit of punk."
"I'm aiming for a March release. I figure I took so long to make the last one, why not just get it out straight away. I've written half of it already and I've already got the first three big singles for it."
She continued: "I feel like I've figured out my place in the industry - I started so young - and I've learnt how to take control of what I'm doing and making sure it happens!"
