Aww gaga is so sweet when it comes to Britney and Christina. You can tell she grew up listening to them and idolizing them. The reason she probably came out with this was because of perez spreading lies how she tried to ruin xtinas career. How people are detecting any shade at all is beyond me, yall are either trolling or hallucinating.

People just tend to look too hard for shade in her statements; she usually seems to have nothing but the best intentions despite her sometimes poor wording.

Well... those are the years they came out. But you'll find plenty of links if you Google. Just going off memory here - other (better, non-lazy stans) can jump in and provide links:

They said Christina copied Gaga's hairstyle @ the VMAs/in a music video in 2007/2008 for Keeps Getting Better, because they both had blonde hair with bangs (now this kind of claim of "copying" looks ridiculous, lol). Gaga had straight blonde hair with bangs in the Just Dance video. Gaga, at one point, said "anyone with two eyes can see the resemblance" between her and Christina. She did compliment her at another point, though, early in her career. Gaga has always said Christina inspired her when she was younger. Gaga's statement from today says that she might not have been as well known if it hadn't been for the Christina comparisons. Christina was asked about the comparisons and she said she didn't know if it was a man or woman (because she loves her drag queens and the most popular one's start with "Lady" - look it up, if you don't believe me, I don't think they were throwing shade).

Then during Bionic (2010), Not Myself Tonight and Bad Romance came out around the same time (2009/2010 ish) and they were compared then too. But mostly because people don't remember what Madonna's videos look like, because NMT is almost a scene-by-scene homage to 3 of Madonna's videos.

When Your Body came out, Gaga sent Christina a tweet along the lines of "I enjoyed Your Body, I missed the old christina!", so people were in an uproar about "shade" then too.

Soo that's why I said 3 and 5 years ago, and that's why Gaga's "official" statement is slightly delayed, hahah.... it's been a while.

Christina had to release a statement (it's on her official website) saying this is the first and last time she's addressing the Gaga fued rumors, and that this isn't the first time the media has pitted her against another female/there is absolutely no war going on/there's space for everyone on our iPods. That must have been sometime during 2010/2011, because it was after NMT I think, but before You Lost Me came out.

If she was such a huge Christina fan, she would have addressed all of this when it was happening and put a stop to the smear campaign from her friends Perez and Akon and allegations of copying. She takes no responsibility in this video for HER role in the sabotage. All she does is defer the blame to 'anyone who may have say anything against Christina because of her existence.' Also not buying that 'all she knew was that she was being compared to Christina'. Right! FAKE!

The thing with this situation is that she was ASKED about it. The other times Xtina was ever brought up was only a few times in her debut days w/ paparazzi and some other interviewers.
It's like blaming Xtina being under Britney's shadow for being asked about Britney up until this day.

Gaga HAS spoken about Xtina before- recalling when someone asked her about Xtina at the 2011 Grammys, and Gaga supported Xtina there also. People are too much with 'ooh shade!' or 'well should have said something earlier!'.

Yes, I know about all the videos where Gaga says she 'loves' Christina. What does that have to do with anything? Her saying 'I love Christina' doesn't do anything for the accusations and hate that Christina was getting over "copying." She should have told Perez and Akon to shut up and never said"I'm flattered to inspire a superstar" when, no, she does not know that for a fact. She was responsible in part for 'pitting women against each other.'

The first funny part about this post is that you think Perez will stop being Perez lol. The other funny part is your stupid conspiracy theory nonsense about her role and this and that. As if you by chance got some hold of a video/audio recording of her evil plot to destroy Xtina to back up these ridiculous assertions. Just stop, if you aren't 13 years old, you definitely act like one.

I like Gaga and I appreciate her comments, but I do have to wonder why she wasn't as vocal about the comparisons made between the two of them and the media bashing back in 2010 as she is now. She could have said back then the things she says on twitter now - like for her fans to stop hating other artists/fanbases.

I find absolutely no shade from Gaga in that interview.
Everything she says and does is shady to some of these delusional souls so I'm not even surprised that they try so hard finding shade in anything she says or does.
