Does the xmas single come before or after the album drops?
Since it's a holiday single I don't think it will come out until around the actual release of the album There's no point in releasing it earlier because it wouldn't get airplay.
I hope the song lives up to the early praise.
The hate from the comparisons is going to be inevitable by the haters but if the song is actually just a cheesy copy...

It will have tight competition from PRISM and ARTPOP.

He was in one of the most successful boy bands ever named Take That. He went solo (and still performs with his band sometimes), has sold over 70 million records worldwide, the best-selling British solo artist in the UK. He's really popular all over the world, except he never really did have that huge break in the US.
Here's a sneak peek of his swing album. It shows him working with the other artists featured, minus Kelly. She probably recorded her stuff separately.
Kelly sang his song "Let Me Entertain You" on 'Duets' last year.
Brandon Blackstock @BBlackstock
“@Rebelrocker03: @BBlackstock sorry had to give ur beautiful bride to be a rose... @kelly_clarkson thanks again I ❤u! She deserves them
I though Kelly didn't like to record separately that's the reason she doesn't have big collabos
Maybe in the past, but even Vince Gill did his stuff separately on "Don't Rush." She was on her way to Australia and Vince did his part at his home studio.
She's been busy. It seems like Robbie recorded this at Abbey Road Studios in London. Kelly was there earlier this year when she did her engagement shoot, so maybe she recorded it there and Robbie wasn't available? Or maybe she recorded her stuff back in the states and sent it later?

What if they mistook Kelly Rowland to Kelly Clarkson

That would be hilarious and would have to fire the PR person haha. Pretty sure it's KC though
Obviously, he must have asked her, since it's his project. I'm curious as to how this collaboration happened?
His album comes out Nov. 18. It'd be cool if Kelly went to the UK to promote WIR and maybe squeeze in a performance with him, since Robbie is HUGE over there.
