If those females existed maybe she would make mixtape-days music. The point was that if she was as she is now, and there were all that competition out. What would she be regarded as? Someone cited Flo Rida, a pop-rapper. And that seems plausible.

There is no if. If you want to have hits as a female rapper in this world (not this imaginary world were female rap is popular) you at least needs to make crossover music with Pop elements. Right now Nicki has made both Pop and Rap music and it's great that she can actually spread her Rap music and get people to listen to it instead of remaining unknown. Her Rap skills shouldn't be judged because she made Pop music, blame society, not her, since those are the ones who made Super Bass the biggest single of Pink Friday. PF:RR was supposed to be a Rap album, but her label disagreed.

I agree, but then again Azalea and Iggy are popular female rappers, make rather pop-influenced rap, and yet still don't sound generic.

I do think Nicki is a great rapper, but as she isn't using it to the best of her abilities, we can't use it comment on her worth.

And to that other person who seriously tried to say Nicki isn't an icon or a legend in the making, that's just petty. Nicki set the bar for contemporary female rap. If she can still be the main female rapper 2 years from now, there's no discrediting her in any way. She already accomplished more than most do in their whole career and then some. She not only broke music records but she's building her brand and empire.

I honestly don't know what you all have PERSONALLY against Nicki but REALISTICALLY she did accomplish many things and set the bar high for all new female rappers. You can't take any of her success away from her by being a hater so, keep on trying.

A classic what? It was cool when it came out, but it's not really timeless or remembered only a couple of years later. She is capable of much better.
