Monday Morning, Birds of Prey, Little Dreamer, Bionic, Glam, Elastic Love, I Am, Bobblehead, WooHoo, My Girls are "generic" songs? Really? You can hate the songs all you want, but you wanna slip that into the definition of GENERIC pop music? There's a few that you could question - but even then, they're not really generic at all.
Embarrassing, I think they may be confusing Bionic and Lotus. Or just regurgitating information as per usual. Even Not Myself Tonight is so oddly structured that I have trouble consider it a generic pop song. The only song I think is beyond generic on the album is I Hate Boys.

And the irony, is that so many Little Monsters seem to think (or push the idea) that Bionic is "copy" of Lady Gaga's past catalog.

It's not generic at all. It's just guttural and noisy. It's awful.

Bionic is such an amazing album. It really came before it's time.
And everyone on this forum knows they bop to it, to this day.

This tells me you really haven't listened to Bionic, as Christina showcased the softer side of her vocals in many of the songs.

Knowing how RCA works I can say Bionic wasn't exactly what Christina wanted. That's why tracks like "Birds of Prey", "Little Dreamer" and others were pushed to bonus tracks in favour of tracks like "WooHoo", "Not Myself Tonight", "Vanity" and others written by hitmakers like Claude Kelly and Ester Dean. I can tell half of the tracks in the final version wouldn't be on the original version. I think the original version of Bionic would've been so much better. But it's not a bad album! She was experimenting and tracks like "Elastic Love" would sound really awkward sung by other pop singer. It's a shame that labels have such power... The artist's vision should be a priority.

Second favourite album by Xtina. Stripped is her best but this one is one of the most underrated albums of all time in a commercial and artistic level. For example Lotus is way inferior than this amazing album.

Bionic is a very bad album that just so happens to have a few gems on it. It's by far the worst album she's released in her career.

Oh thank God for this thread! Okay, so a couple of weeks ago, I've decided to sit down and give Bionic the listen it deserves. I've listened to snippets before, unfocused, and thought it was a horrible album. but I decided to give it another shot. Boy was I wrong!
The whole album is truly an experience to be honest. I can't believe I actually hated this and now it's become one of my favorite pop albums! The songs, the interludes, the emotion is all so amazing to listen and each adds something special to the album. I also felt like the album was personal to Christina, you can literally feel like every song on the album is someway somehow describing an aspect of her personality and life.
The ballads are a definitely highlight in the album and are probably on off her best songs of all time. I really do feel like Bionic is an album like no other and is truly "ahead of it's time". We did you so wrong X. I truly do have a lot more respect for her as an artist. And once you compare it to Lotus, you truly feel like her 2012 effort is really tired and generic compared to Bionic. A true body of work. A pop masterpiece
Good job X for turning me around and making me love you.

I can understand the hate towards it and it does have some duds (Vanity comes to mind) but it truly did not deserve to be the "flop standard". Lotus should deserve that title.

It has some good songs but way too many fillers.

Bionic to Lotus wasn't as extreme as Back to Basics to Bionic which is why Bionic gets ridiculed for its underperformance. Lotus didn't exactly shock anyone.

I like Bionic more than Lotus. I feel like Lotus is definitely her worst album.

It's an amazing album. The fact that it underperformed and is a Christina album is the reason it gets so much hate.

I love Christina and def played out her first three albums, and I just didn't like Bionic very much. I liked "You Lost Me" but that's really it. I think Lotus is better because at least it has 4-5 songs I use and not just 1.

It's decent. She was oversinging, and that was very unnecessary. The way the era handled kinda affected the image of the album itself, too. It was ****ty, not sexy.
It did have great moments tho. And by great, I mean, some of her best songs, like Lift Me Up and I Am.
Back To Basics remains as my favorite Christina album ever. So classy. (followed by Lotus and Stripped)

Such an amazing album. You can't help but love it mostly because of the trends it started that artists like Beyonce, Britney, Celine, JLo, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Rihanna, etc, etc, etc followed.
