Kuwait newspaper Al Watan, citing Yemeni media reports, reported that the girl died in the northwestern city of Hardh. She is believed to have suffered a tear to her genitals on her wedding night, after marrying to a man more than five times her age. Activists in Yemen called the man a “beastly groom,” calling for police to arrest him and the girl’s family for making her go through the ordeal, according to GulfNews.com. The man was not identified in media reports.

Sadly, young girls are still forced to marry old men in some countries because the girl's family need money.. So those men give dowries to the girl's family in return of their daughter's hand. This is reality, and I hope awareness is raised so that this is stopped.

This is so disgusting.

But why 8 THOUGH! I mean, the whole concept of 'arranged marriages' irks me, but why wouldn't they at least wait until puberty occured? This whole thing is so gross.
