Square Enix game director Tetsuya Nomura has said in an LA Times interview that the current Kingdom Hearts story arc will end with Kingdom Hearts 3.
Players can catch up with the Kingdom Hearts story with the upcoming HD 1.5 Remix later this year.
However, the franchise will continue after the release of the third game. Nomura explained that Kingdom Hearts 3 isn't part of a "trilogy," but added that story elements that were introduced in 2002 will be wrapped up and come to a close.
"There was never a plan [at first]. As a core game, this is finally the third, and 10 years have passed. I couldn't call this a trilogy. There have been so many spinoffs. In Kingdom Hearts 3, the battles that the characters have been fighting for the past 10 years will come to a conclusion. But the series will continue. Only the particular enemy they have been fighting the past 10 years will come to an end," he said.
Nomura hinted that Kingdom Hearts 3 will head in the direction of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance from a gameplay perspective. The game's combat system was an early guide for the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One action role-playing game.

I want The Lion King world back! I figured we'll get Wreck It Ralph, Tangled, Princess and The Frog, Frozen, Pirates of The Caribbean, Snow White/Cinderella,Sleepy Beauty(Maleficent IS alive and is the main Disney baddie), Lilo & Stich and like 2 Final Fantasy worlds
I don't want ANY repeat worlds from earlier games. I'm so tired of those worlds.
I'd be OK with worlds for Wreck-it-Ralph, Toy Story and of course an Oz world.
But the #1 world they need is obviously a Hannah Montana world. You gotta help HM put on a concert.
There's no chance of them dropping Halloweentown though, they know it's WAY too popular (I love it too so that's fine by me). But I agree, I want a lot of new worlds... kind of wouldn't mind seeing Wonderland return though. Maybe a few others.

If they do summon characters imma need Tinkerbell back cause her power was seriously handy during long boss fights.
And I forgot Lilo & Stitch in my list DX I would totally be here for like a 99 dalmatian thing where you need to collect all the experiments from different worlds.
It's just ending the current story arc...
