Having cancer doesn't make a ****** person stop being a ****** person. Some people would change because of it, but we know that they wouldn't have at all if not for their illness. I'm not one to meddle in Adele's family affair, because I'm sure there's more to it than just reported by the media, but I will respect her decision about this regardless.
As somebody who was also abandoned by their father, I can completely relate to Adele here and understand why she doesn't want her son to have any contact with him and I don't judge her at all.

So... he had his surgery in May of 2012???????????? And there is no confirmation he even has it still?
Furthermore, if Adele was so pissed at him for going to the press in the first place, why does he think speaking to the DailyMail about her AGAIN will get her to come back?
Methinks he's just famewhoring. Adele and her family are better off without.
its sad that he has cancer and all, no one should have to endure that however i feel no sympathy that he will never see his grandson as he doesn't deserve it at all
Yea I was about to say the same thing. Sad he has cancer, but I have no sympathy for him not seeing his child. He doesn't deserve it after walking out on his DAUGHTER at three years old .
Adele should let his father see his grandson... I understand he wasn't a good dad to her, but that doesn't mean he is going to be a bad grandfather to his grandson. I believe in forgiveness, I always have... It really liberates your soul.
The only thing that makes this sound true is that he claims he has bowel cancer, which was his father, John's, cause of death; when John, Adele was utterly distraught because she had such a close relationship with him, and she was sad that she couldn't turn to her own father for comfort because he had driven himself to alcoholism.
This is very sad; if you think about it, when Demi's estranged father passed, she seemed to regret not rekindling her relationship with him. Hopefully this won't happen with Adele. I understand why she wouldn't want to forgive him, and I can appreciate that, but if she doesn't forgive him she could regret it for the rest of her life. Hopefully things will work out for both of them.
