2024 is 11 years away. Though I'd say 2028 is a more realistic option. South Africa sucessfully organized the World Cup a few years back. I don't see why one couldn't host the summer olympics.
Either way, I'd like a country that has never hosted before.
South Africa would of course be the front runner, but the Olympics is a significantly larger task than the World Cup.
Thing is. They cannot nominate a city on the hope that it could get its act together by 2028. They have to demonstrate that they are capable of doing it BEFORE they submit their bid. Which rules out most of Africa.

True enough.
Those games are still 11 / 15 years in the future. Plenty of time to prepare.
It even looks like several African cities have expressed interest in both (Durban, Niarobi, and Casablanca.)
Edinburgh's going to come out of nowhere like a Dark Horse and snatch the games. First games in Scotland.
If, for some inconceivable reason, that doesn't happen Paris would be my first choice, followed by Toronto and then one of the American cities (Preferably LA or DC). Casablanca would be nice, but I can't see it happening.
