Which really isn't the case. Warrior was meant to have a 70s rock n roll undercurrent but it was still very much pop and still with electronic elements. Gold Trans Am, for instance, has a 70s rock Lynrd Skynrd vibe but its still a straight up Ke$ha track full through same goes with Machine Gun Love.
What she makes with Wayne, especially with LIp$ha, is going to be their own thing and her own side project which obviously will be just as important to her as her pop music but shes very self aware and knows that she is in fact a pop artist. Shes not trying to fool anyone into thinking shes a straight up rock star, part of why I respect Ke$ha is her self awareness and genuine mindset.
And shes been pretty vocal about how annoyed she was with RCA and Dr. Luke and their seemingly from my perspective keeping her from doing her and sort of forcing her to release stuff like Crazy Kids and C'Mon.
On a side note, I don't think C'Mon underperformed because ballads were the style of choice because ballads are not the dominant music form and were not. Electronic music is still very much the heart of Top 40 right now in like every way. C'Mon just wasn't a good single choice because it obviously wasn't going to be the song from the album that would do as well as or even better than Die Young. I feel like she shouldve released a fan favorite to cushion the rush release that way you know theyd support it.

Ok, she does want to change her genre to Rock/Indie. There have been several things she has done to make me think that. Dirty Love or Past Lives for instance would be a better example of what she wanted. Gold Trans Am is something her and RCA settled on. Imagine if you will, Warrior in the middle of a tag a war game between RCA & Ke$ha. RCA wanted the Electro/Pop stuff and Ke$ha wanted the rock influenced songs. Futuristic Sex Toys would be an even better example of what she wanted. Something different, totally different that what she is know for. The problem RCA and Luke had with the sound she wanted was that it had no appeal to her general listeners. I mean you don't see many pop stans listening to AC/DC. They obviously came to some agreement on Warrior which why it sounds all over the place.
They thought people wanted party songs from Ke$ha, which people do. Look at Crazy Kids for instance it charted in the top 40 with nothing but a video. But people wanted something different but oh the same from Ke$ha. Thinking Of You would've of made a good single and would of did wonders for her. It charted in the top 40 on iTunes with Warrior was released.
C'mon did alright but there was better song on Warrior that should've been released. Fan favorites don't necessary do well, because fans aren't the general public but this time I think they should've listened. But Lip$ha will do nothing for her on the charts. Maybe it will make people see her differently but I don't so. They only thing she will get out of it is a favorable critic reviews. It's has no appeal on Pop radio. Listen to 2012 featuring Ke$ha by The Flaming Lips, the production is so rough on the ears and makes you not wanna listen. Noone will be here for that sound if she chooses to make it.
I think she shouldn't waste her time with Lip$ha and get back with Dr. Luke and make a quick hit again. Look at Roar by Katy, Dr. luke is nowhere done. This will just hold her up for a couple months, do nothing for her relevance and when she finally releases something with appeal it will be too late because she'll be so irrelevant.
