And Britney was struggling to get a hit during the middle of her career. The Circus era was a big comeback for her. How do you know Gaga won't be breaking records 10+ years into her career? People didn't think Britney could do it again during her KFed/Chaotic days. |
Sis, maybe you were really young then, but even during In The Zone, the general public was just OVER Britney, but they were still talking about her.
And that's my point. Gaga has built a whole career out of shock antics where her kissing Madonna, driving with a baby in her lap, etc simply wouldn't be shocking because it's GAGA we're talking about.
Britney, however, was that sweet girl with the pigtails. She was able to get attention for doing dumb stuff like swearing, being late to a movie premiere etc. This is stuff that happens on the daily for Rihanna, Gaga, etc and no one bats an eyelash
That's what star power is. Holding people onto your every little insignificant move for a long time even when you aren't doing anything. Gaga, unfortunately, already used most of hers up by wearing 900 outfits in 365 days
in her first year on the pop scene. It will be hard for her to get the public talking again.
That's why she was overshadowed by Miley. That's why she will continue to get overshadowed unless she does something drastic.
