Earphones are more convenient. Headphones are more comfortable and generally have better sound quality I guess. But I just use earphones anyway, especially when I'm out. At home, SPEAKERS.

Headphones when i'm studying, earphones when i'm working out/running, our just out in general.
Headphones feel kinda obnoxious outdoors.

My head is weirdly shaped and my ears are kinda massive so headphones are usually v uncomfortable, it's hard to find decent cheap earphones tho.
