Her VMA performance was boring, the public who was there agreed but she got raving reviews. The song is not original but OK, I mean I haven't said anything until now but now the video which is really aimed at children therefore not satisfying for everyone and gets all this praise, I don't get it. You can see her acting childishly dumb at the beginning, is this supposed to be empowering? I don't get it.
Whatever, I won't blame Katy, it's not her fault she does music for children and at the same time has a great team that really gets how to connect with the critics and the public, certain public.

You don't like Katy and her music, and other people do. That's all. Done.
Stop acting like it's a fact that Katy's basic and boring and you're just too good for her and her music or something.

TMZ is a Gossip magazine how do you get people to look at it and the views - feed into the fire that already exist
You guys are so short-sighted I swear.

Yes, everyone is so short-sighted, only Little Monsters can see through it all!

Everybody has their bias, some can grow passed that, some others, as yourself can't.
You've been on ATRL too short a time to understand this.
Sit down or stand aside.

1). Roar by Katy Perry is a good song. Although it is nothing new from her past music it has been wildly successful. Currently #1 on Billboards+ iTunes.
2). Applause is a good song, however it is not a song many can relate to, the song is also overproduced. The sales have been disappointing and Gaga is indeed going through a decline in her career.
3). The music video for both singles were good. Applause in its very own creative way. Roar great concept and typical Katy Perry successful video.
4). Everyone has their own opinion on who they like and for what reasons.

Can we just settle on this?
Honestly, this war gets old, and it's the same **** over and over again.

Preach. Also i see that the KatyCats are doing the same thing that the Little Monsters did in the beginning of the BTW era: Praising everything Gaga does and her #1's, making people hate Gaga and a lot of things more. That's just not good for their faves career.

I wasn't even coming to the thread but the "trumps Lady Gaga" made me come to point out a couple of things, it's not mystery I found the 'Applause' video better and more entertaining. Anyway, I'll just leave it there. The 'Roar' video was "cute" in a Dora the Explorer kinda way, there, I made my peace.

Are the Katy Kats really celebrating praise from a TMZ sister site?
Pathetic.

I hope neither wins. Katy's video was the definition of corny and gave the lion king/tarzan circa the 90's when most atrlers where not even in kindergarden teas. And Gaga's vid was okay

!!
Why is Lady Gaga in an article that is supposed to be centred around Katy's new video? Get that press?
I liked the humour in the video. Half of it was contrived and tacky, though.
