Tegan and Sara: Coca Cola Contest update & New competition announced
Tegan and Sara have announced a new contest for their fans, and this one really holds an amazing prize. Last month, the two teamed up with Coca Cola, giving fans the chance to spend a whole day with the twin sisters, and three winners were chosen who were granted their reward during the Shipwrecked Tour.
Jacqueline, 16, from Paris got to spend a day shopping with Tegan and Sara, receiving fashion advice from the sisters who are known for their edgy, androgynous style as well as helping them on deciding what outfit to wear on stage that night.
Carol, 22, from London went for a picnic with Tegan and Sara in Hyde Park, where they spent the afternoon hanging out and sunbathing, talking about books and music as well as going on a pedal-boat ride which was of great fun for the trio.
Simon, 19, from Berlin took Tegan and Sara on a sightseeing tour around his city, showing them his personal favorite spots including a vegan sandwich shop and the Berlin Wall. The duo praised his tour guide skills and said they liked the city even more now.
“We had an amazing time with our fans”, commented Tegan on the outcome of the Coca Cola contest. “It was great to get to know these three on a really personal basis and find out about their interests and hobbies. We also got to see some more of three amazing cities, so it was a win/win situation!”
The new contest features a prize that's not quite as personal, but still equally amazing: One lucky winner will receive the privilege of life long free tickets to any Tegan and Sara concert in a city of their choice. This includes a pair of free general admission tickets to one show per tour, in a city of choice in the winner's country of residence.
All fans need to do to enter is send a picture of themselves being 'shipwrecked' somewhere – with their copy of Shipwrecked! It's another creative challenge, but after seeing the results from the Coca Cola competition, Tegan and Sara are positive that their fans will continue to come up with amazing ideas.
“We were completely in awe at all the amazing entries we received, and it was so hard to choose a winner. It's really inspiring to see what people come up with, how differently they approach the subject and execute their ideas in the end. We loved what everyone did, and we can't wait to see what's in store for us this time”, Sara said.
