Yeah, but the characters bit was directly about Tekken 7 there was a japanese article talking about ideas for Tekken 7. They might have been working on both at the time TxSF is not coming anytime soon i think

Tekken 5 & TTT1 disagree...

Soulcalibur tried that... and we lost Taki, Talim & Yunsung. I'm not up for losing someone like Xiaoyu, Raven, or Julia.

Only ones they should cut is Dr.B,Miharu (shes a xiaoyu clone anyway) Sebastian,combot,Unknown,Tiger,Alex and Ogre,true ogre.

I feel as though they should cut down on the joke characters. The roster is really starting to get a bit ridiculous. I don't see the point in having 2 bears, both capos, etc etc. I can see if they make the characters different like they did with Nina and Anna though.

Tekken 7 needs to be fresh, yet not too unfamiliar like they did with Tekken 4.

They should have Forest Law replace Marshall too. I like him better tbh.

These are the only people I'd be fine with them cutting (from the main series Tekken):
Baek (we already got Hwoarang, we don't need two of the same styles)
Bruce (I never understood why he was brought back...)
Devil Jin (Make him like Devil & Kazuya... not a separate character...)
Christie or Eddy (Exact same moveset, why do we need you there?)
Ganryu (Too jokey... and it's not funny...)
Lei (I don't understand his purpose there anymore... his fighting style is unique, but it doesn't help his stupid personality)
Mokujin (Who uses this? Honestly... who's thinks they are THAT profound at Tekken that they can use any character?)
Roger Jr. (I think the bears are enough animal for this roster)
Wang (He's just too damn old. What happens when they jump another ten years? Is he going to fight in his deathbed?)

Baek and Hwoarang play differently though why axe him when eddy and christie play exactly the same?.
Personality is a bit irrelevant at this point when they stopped giving a damn about the story. Lei's moveset >>> personality that doesn't warrant a roster removal.

Wang has a great moveset but he is old as hell. Miharu can get the moveset cause while Xiaoyu might be his grandaughter people would be pissed if her moveset changed.

Let's be honest. This is all a popularity contest with these characters.

Baek, to me, has little-to-no reason why the hell he's there, along with Ganryu & Bruce. Hwoarang at least has a viable rival, and a general appeal to the Tekken audience.

They need to up the ante with Lei, because I have not ONCE remembered a time I enjoyed playing as him. Not because he has a difficult fighting style, I love that about him, but because he's so damn forgettable. I forget he's even part of the roster... seriously... So, while I might not want him there, I do understand that X-ing him might be harsh. But, they gotta make it more enjoyable to be him. I mean, flatter than rice paper...

That's pretty much the same people I was thinking too. I was also thinking about the whole Jaycee/Julia thing. I don't see them bringing Michelle back since she was likely fan service. I'm not a fan of Jaycee at all and I ended up playing with Michelle cause I enjoy her play style way more. It's either leave Julia has Jaycee or return Julia while keeping the moves Michelle gained and just create a new character with a play style similar to Jaycee.

I see your point and agree to an extent the problem is the roster is getting bigger so you forget certain characters are there.

Michelle got replaced a long time ago and actually quit fighting to live a more peaceful life.
Michelle isn't coming back due to her younger model but Jun got a new one that looks like her current age. Even the win poses and the line she says to Jin "Have you forgot my teachings" imply she's in her canonical age and will return.

Julia should stay as Jaycee but it what would most likely happen is Julia goes back to her old self and her alter ego is selectable or Jaycee will be a new character altogether.
