Games in the Tekken series have a history of being developed specifically for arcade boards based on Playstation hardware, and according to a post on Japanese message boards, a new arcade board, called System 478 which may possibly be based on Playstation 4 hardware, is being made and will be appearing in arcades in the near future.
One of the titles listed as an exhibition title to demonstrate this new arcade board is Tekken 7, meaning that we may potentially see the latest numbered entry in the series very shortly. Tekken 6 was released in arcades back in 2007, so one might say that we are due for a new entry by now.
Other games set to be part of the exhibition include new entries in the Gundam VS and Idolm@ster series, as well as TANK!TANK!TANK!TANK! and Mario's Casino Kingdom. Since there has been no official announcement from Namco-Bandai as of yet, we're labeling this as nothing more than a rumor for now.
I can't wait... That's a reason to get a PS4 for me.
Same here. They usually do arcade releases first to test out the game and do balance changes so its ready. Depending on when it comes out to arcades there is a chance it could come out to consoles in the same year like tekken 5. But i wouldn't hold my breath though and 2015 seems more realistic.
