I'm not shading either, Katy's has proven her power as a single seller, and has totally demolished Gaga these past two years when it comes to producing hit singles. Gaga has the upper hand when it comes to albums and touring.

When PRISM went up for preorder, people were forced to buy "Roar" again, and many people aren't going to do that (except the hardcore stans/fans). There was no new track being offered with the PRISM preorder, so many probably are going to just wait to buy the album. I think iTunes has fixed the problem by now, I am not sure.

That doesn't explain why her numbers are less than expected, but people in here should not be judging overall album success based on some preorders.
