FL Studio is what I use.

GarageBand is available if you have a Mac.

There are other programs, but those are the 2 I am familiar with.

I used to use FL Studio but I use Logic now since I switched to an iMac.

The most popular one in the industry is Pro Tools, followed by FL Studio. After that Logic, Ableton, Reason, Cubase, etc. are all used about equally.

I'm (stuck with) using Reason. It's not a bad program, but I'm really aiming for obtaining a full ProTools interface...

Are there any producing programs for dance music or EDM that are free? I've always wanted to learn to produce, since I can write and rap. And my BFF can sing.

Garageband (MAC) and Audacity (PC) are the only legally free ones.

Is it easy to use?

Does anyone here know anything about setting up audio recording systems to devices etc?

I didn't feel comfortable using Ableton or any other DAW (I found FL easier). I used Logic in school and loved how similar it was to FL. No regrets, it's a beast.

Not to sound conceited here, but I think some of the stuff I've made is better than Crank That (Soulja Boy) and Soulja made that in FL Studio demo

Pro Tools is VERY HARD to learn. I know Guitar Center offers classes on it for free depending on where you live though

FL Studio is hard to learn at first... then its very easy for a while. Once you delve into more advanced production though there's another big hump.

Between Audacity and FL Studio demo, which is better?

Hmm, I like the first one, but it sounds pretty muddy esp. after that build. Perhaps work with the EQ a bit to make the vocals stand out more and have the beat less mushy?

FL Studio is light years better than Audacity. Only thing is, FL Studio Demo has a lot of limitations while Audacity has none.

It's worth it to try out both a bit though

EDIT: Yasss Marooner. Like RHI said, it's tough at first. I have not (yet) got into the more advanced techniques, but I am learning a few small things every time I make something new. It's not the most efficient way, but it's a fun way to do it.
