I believe RH and RR were all written before SS and PTA and Masqurade and the only pop songs that were written was probably VVV , BS, MM, and YF. This is just a hunch.

Starships was never hitting #1. You give that song too much credit. We Are Young + Somebody That I Used To Know were much too strong. It only peaked at #5.

Super Bass is the actual song that had a chance at #1. It was the most streamed song of 2011.
