and the people whining about minimum wage being raised are a damn mess.
Do you not ****ing understand that when minimum wage is raised for those in low paying jobs, that gives people on the higher rungs more incentive to ask for more? This is very important because even people in decent paying jobs are struggling.
It's hilarious that some of yall are so far gone into capitalist ideology that you can't even see how ****** of a position you are in, and instead focus on keeping the people below you down to make yourself feel better.
Just sitting and living off of foodstamps isn't good. You need to make an effort to be independent. Relying on the government to keep you alive isn't a good thing.
Food stamps are easily abused (my own family abuses them), but they are essential to the under class' survival. However I can understand why some people are against food stamps, too.
In some communities, things like food stamps and welfare are the better option though.
There's not much work out there right now and the work they have access to is no better than living off the government.
