musicMagpie has revealed the number of traded-in debut albums for the different X Factor winners.
Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward's albums are the most traded of LPs by the show's eight winners so far.
The media trading service has received 734,275 debut albums from the past winners of the talent competition to date.
Lewis's Spirit has been sent in 318,741 times, having sold 375,872 copies during its first week of release in November 2007.
Shayne Ward's self-titled debut release has been traded 202,482 times, over the 201,266 albums sold during week one.
Joe McElderry's Wide Awake has been returned 38,949 times, which is just under the 39,405 sold in its first week.
A musicMagpie spokesperson said: "People still love the hype that surrounds The X Factor and will go and buy the winner's album when it's released.
"The problem is that these acts are quickly replaced by the 'next big thing'.
"It seems X Factor winners really struggle to hold on to their fan base after the programme has ended and people regret buying the album in the first place."
The figures in full for traded debut albums are as follows:
Steve Brookstein - Heart and Soul - 15,080 (50,989 sold in first week)
Shayne Ward - Shayne Ward - 202,482 (201,266)
Leona Lewis - Spirit - 318,741 (375,872)
Leon Jackson - Right Now - 16,328 (37,197)
Alexandra Burke - Overcome - 111,523 (132,065)
Joe McElderry - Wide Awake - 38,949 (39,405)
Matt Cardle - Letters - 17,807 (70,896)
Little Mix - DNA - 13,365 (53,000)
