Gaga has enough fans as of Right Now to support her album sales. However, after that first week, it's up to the GP to buy her album, which in the case of the US, didn't happen (85% sale drop iirc)

GGGB and Loud sold really well, the only difference between the 2 is that Gaga does a lot more promo. Rihanna can't do that because she does yearly releases on top of touring.

It's fairly two sided. Beyonce has the acclaim, but Rihanna has more success than Beyonce Right Now. It's great to be making money, but that's not a feasible drag when the artist you're trying to drag is sitting at #1 on Billboard.
