California Gurls was so perfect. The way the song was aimed to both adults and children is literally genius. Most kids probably don't even realize that there's a weed reference in the first lines (and I doubt parents did either). How to write something risky while avoiding a radio ban!
God, she's so dumb. It was the first time (in years) we had a truly hot summer here in the UK and if she had released that, along with a great video, she would've had a big, BIG hit. What's the point of managing yourself if you cannot identify and release a bona-fide hit.
Her label must really want those pop hits BADLY. Sony doesn't make money off of her touring anyway so they NEED a hit album + hit singles.
