When Katy will bring out the great songs (hopefully not locally great like Teenage Dream and E.T), the others won't have a chance.
I'm still calling it, Beyoncé and Katy top Billboard artists of 2014
Beyonce won't release anything. And even if she does, the world has kinda moved on.
I mean, was anyone really expecting Standing On The Sun/Grown Woman to smash anywhere?
Roar VMA performance was almost as embarrassing as Miley. Katy is embarrassingly literal, but it will always connect her to the GP, which is mostly comprised of idiots.
Everything about Katy is supposed to be easy to digest & safe.
It is the opposite scenario with Gag.
Katy's VMA performance was not only the second most googled of the night, it was also the second most acclaimed of the night after Justin's.
She just can't stop winning
Are people really surprised Roar is the lead single? Your opinion of quality aside, Roar is the lead single because it's an obvious, undeniable smash hit. How can the same people who criticize Gaga all day for making stupid commercial decisions with her "******" music bitch about that song being released as the lead single? Do people just love complaining, or are they that out of touch?
Diamonds is musically interesting AND a WW smash hit.
There's nothing wrong with clichés, though. Mainly, the only ones who aren't doing them are alternative-rock acts (well, most of them anyway), and the ones who try to be all fancy and different outside of that crowd end up sucking anyway. But my goodness, "Roar" How many co-writers are there?
Roar

Produced by: Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Cirkut
Applause
Written by: Lady Gaga, DJ White Shadow, Martin Bresso, Nick Monson, and Dino Zisis

Seeing the success of Roar, Gags should've released Hair instead of MTN and done some super literal video and performance for it. It's catchy and the lyrics are trite and childish and people seem to like that

Who said it was the wrong lead single? It was the right lead single just like Adam Sandler made the right decision doing Grown Ups.

exactly. they can complain about Roar being cliché and all but its an obvious smash and you don't even need to internalize to get that

God, she's so dumb. It was the first time (in years) we had a truly hot summer here in the UK and if she had released that, along with a great video, she would've had a big, BIG hit. What's the point of managing yourself if you cannot identify and release a bona-fide hit.
