Tegan and Sara take the stage at the Teen Choice Awards to present a medley of their latest singles Youth and Heart Waster.



Starting off with Youth, they play a semi-acoustic arrangement that makes their vocals and harmonies shine and only intensifies the thought-provoking, melancholy nature of the song. The main lights are dimmed, the stage only being illuminated by seemingly millions of tiny fairy lights, making it look like the duo is performing under a starry night sky. It creates the perfectly dreamy, inspirational atmosphere as is translated through the music, and there is a sense of emotion and sentimentality palpable among the audience in the room, who probably barely notice the lights start to fade and the music transitions into Heart Waster.



There is a short moment of complete darkness, and then the full lights come back on, tinting the stage in a warm pink/red color. Tegan and Sara have gotten rid of their instruments, just focusing on performing their upbeat new single in front of a stage set that features two huge hearts set up behind them. Heart-Shaped confetti is shooting up into the air next to them during the chorus, and they show off how much their stage presence has improved since their early days by entertaining the audience with their vibrancy. Everyone is bopping along to the song in their seats, and the twins sure look like they're having a great time as well. They song ends with them repeating the last chorus only supported by the drum beat, getting the audience to clap along, while confetti rains down onto them until they leave the stage.
