I know a bunch of my friends told me they never really got her until the 4 era or after.
And to compare I just noticed LOT is at 100,000,000+ views. To put that into perspective, the biggest song of the summer with multiple weeks at #1's video is at 150,000,000+ views (granted it hasn't been out that long). But still. LOT video isn't crazy. It's not viral. It's good music.

Oh yeah, the ratio between lost and gained fans is definitely leaning towards gained. I can't imagine anyone leaving the Beyhive because of the 4 era. We were in need for that more traditional RnB sound and that album didn't fall short. Sure, there was a few bumps (no pun intended) but the music and videos were on point.
I remember this one time me and my mum were going into the city (about 30 minutes) and she asked me to bring 4 because she hadn't heard it in full yet and she getting into it so much. She use to be a huge DC fan back in the day but she's gotten a lot more into pop lately. (She loves Nicki & Rihanna.. :/) Anyway, she said the album reminded her why she liked Beyonce's music in the first place which was nice to hear.
Also, a lot of my friends have random 4 tracks on their iPods and I'm always a bit shocked because "I Was Here" doesn't seem like a track that the GP would recognize but yet so many people stan for it. I guess I sometimes underestimate Bey's power.
