Bringing up Fergie isnt that relevant for the mere fact that this was her solo debut...she hadnt put up HUGE numbers in the past that her fans love to throw out there everytime sales discussions come up (as they should if their favorite star has the stats to back it up)...different story entirely..."Britney meet your replacement"..."Fergie, meet your predeseccor"

No, we can't. She has no talent, she's a train-wreck, she hates her kids and she deserves to flop to let real talent emerge.

Now thats a whole other can of worms...I never went there and I won't because I dont think anyone removed from the situation should be deciding whats good for those kids...

I brought up Fergie for the mere fact that people were saying it was a flop for debuting at 150k, but now a year and some change later she's nearly 3M albums sold. Britney debuts with 289k, which you are right is a huge drop, and ppl are quick to call it a flop, just like Fergie, when in reality this album could hold up strong for the next year, it might not, who knows?
But for you to call her a has-been is terrible. A has-been is someone who isn't talked about, acknowledge, etc. That's why I brought up the media. If she was a has-been no one would care if she is losing her kids, getting pregnant, running over people's foot. It would be whatever. Britney will be a has-been when she retires and leaves, otherwise she'll always be here flop or not.

A7X!!!
Too bad for Britney, sales-wise, because you know Billboard won't count The Eagles. duh. but I thought she would do 350k. Holiday sales should help her though.

I was competely surprised @ A7X actually. lol i didn't think it'd do too good since they don't have the MTV exposure like they did with their debut and such.
As for Britney finally someone with sense.

No need to be overdramatic..Everyone has a right to their own opinion. Just like how u think Chris Brown's album will not do above 300,000K opening week..a lot of other people think NOT...I believe that Britney's album may not hold on that much..if it does, then good 4 her..But u gotta respect my opinion as well as others too..I really don't remember Fergie being called a FLOP too when she first came out..Also remember that Fergie is a SOLO debut artist..U can't compare her to britney..makes no sense!

I think our main difference here is our respective fundamental definitions of a has-been...according to my definition she is a has-been because she has failed to remain relevant in the market she has intended to stay relevant in: Music. Shes a tabloid hotty for damn sure, but she has said many times she doesnt want/like the attention. Which is easy to understand since they never have good news to report. She fuels those fires with her crazy antics.
As far as longevity for her album, I dont see it happening for the mere reason that radio isnt really feeling her. Her audience impressions havent been that high for most of her career. She has had some RIDICULOUS international success, but her singles just dont get that top spot. I dont see her getting much more radio love on her other singles than she had for Gimme More, but we'll see. If she fails to win radio, then homegirl will be lucky to top Rihanna sales. If she does, which is unlikely because of her negative media saturation, then she could pull out a little something in the way of longevity, but I wont be holding my breath.

U obviously seem 2 care since u replied! ..I laugh at the mention of 'xtina'..xtina had a 350,000 debut so why re we even mentioning her? ..You have to be realistic..this album's future is NOT looking good..
