I just listened to some other Dan Wilson & Jeff Bhasker produced songs by the other girls Lyrically, and production wise.
Those harmonies are Her sound. Pure amazingness. Very distinct indeed, since no one else is doing it and it seems like only Her who can do it. It's Her trick. Needs to be trademarked!
I love how "so you were never a saint and I loved in shades of wrong/ we learn to live with the pain, mosaic broken hearts/ but this love is brave and wild" repeats in the background during SOG's final chorus... Just like the "please don't be in love with someone else/ please don't have somebody waiting on you" is repeated on Enchanted's final chorus.
YES. Those parts are my favorite. I think they add so much emotion to the song and make them sound more beautiful
Yes "ohh, 'oohs" and it becomes apparent during 3:12-3:17 and 3:32- 3:34. Listen closely to the beat with your earphones during those time frames and you can hear the "ohh ooh" in full glory .
I just want you guys to pick up on that because that is what makes the song THE BEST track on RED.
Tbh the complete two bridges make Treacherous the best song on the album (and her career) but what you pointed out is indeed incredible
Taylor shats all over Adele & P!nk quality wise. People have mistaken their vocal maturity with maturity of materials. And the images they sport. No shade whatsoever here.
Yes!! I've never liked Just give me a bullet, it's production isn't even basic, it's bad, and way too hard to follow.
The melody just doesn't go along with the feeling of the lyrics
One thing Taylor has a knack for is singing her words in a way that makes her feelings very believable. Melody can save lyrics that aren't as great and take great lyrics to new heights.
The fact that MM didn't excecutve produce Red and only did 3 tracks while the rest were country/rock/alt leaning proves she only wanted to grab Pop's attention. I dot think she do a completely pop album. That's why it's weird when people say Red is a pop album, it's got like 4 full on pop songs and like 4 more pop influenced ones
I don't think she'll do a completely pop album; she loves awards too much. But I don't think she'd do a completely country/rock/alt leaning album; she loves breaking sales records too much. I think we'll always get a mix of both. Selling the most and getting critical acclaim, too; when will the other girls?
All been said here, and Her tendency of going slightly off key also makes Her sounds so, idk, adorable & human? I love it that way, rather than sporting all on-key, technically perfect, but lifeless vocals, because She will be too busy to stay on-key.

And many stations only have current single in this single, and paid Our Song, YBWM, LS, Mean, Ours, Begin Again dust

I giggle when people compare Adole and Tyler in terms of maturity. If Taylor weighed 400 pounds they'd be here for her.
Grrr, I also think if she wasn't such a traditional All-American beauty, with blonde hair and blue eyes, people wouldn't jump to the sort of assumptions that she is a virgin who promotes purity and being a traditional woman. People don't say those kinds of things about Selena and she also has a good-girl image. What particularly grates is that Taylor came up in a time when everybody was preaching virginity and purity rings (Jonas Brothers, Miley, Demi, Selena, Jordin Sparks) and she was the only teen singer who didn't. Yet she still gets **** for the conclusions other people jumped to and the others don't.

If Taylor doesn't sing about dirty sex in the club with large black men, flailing around like an idiot in her bra she'll be called a goody two shoes AND a *****. If she goes on casually dates with a few guys over the course of 8 years they'll call her a *****. If she writes songs that are really good and beg to be released for her fans and there are rumors it's about a specific boy and she doesn't 100% praise him and even *gasp* sings about how maybe he was wrong, she's a victim playing- *****. If she cured cancer, AIDs, made gay marriage legal, fixed the economy and knitted everyone sweaters she's a desperate annoying homophobic hick who deserves to die. Sorry she went on 2 dates with Harry Styles. Harry should be forever alone so awkward 11 year old girls can flick their beans to his greasy face free of any interference.
