Wide Awake is clearly about Katy's struggle with The Illumianti though. At the start of the video the room and walls begin to close in on her, she has no way to escape (symbolising her feelings of being unfulfilled and suffocated in life and not being able to express herself). So in order to get out of it, she sells her soul to the music industry (That's what the burst of light coming out of her chest symbolises). Then you see the younger version of her, this is a symbol of innocence and purity. They walk into the room with mirrors and the paparazzi and the evil man behind the mirror - who Katy can't reach - is a reflection of her feelings of entrapment and being helplessly in the clutches of the evil music industry. So, with the help of the young Katy she smashes through that barrier and frees herself, but having previously been under the control of The Illuminati (symbolised by the strawberry - forbidden fruit, Bible reference) she falls prey to their spell and becomes weak. But the younger, innocent Katy (the person fighting within her) won't give up and you see her battling the two people in the hospital, now these are wearing bull masks and are a symbol of Baphomet, an ancient Pagan god associated with Satanism and The Illumniati. The young Katy defeats them and they both run out of the hospital (thus freeing herself of the evil controlling her). Near the end of the video you see Prince Charming, this is meant to seem like Russell Brand, but it isn't. What it really is, is The Illuminati tempting Katy to return to them, but she sees through the trickery and pushes them away. You then see her happy at the end of the video, confirming she has freed herself
