At least Rihanna is straight up about her input in making music and doesn't lie and pay people to keep quiet about it. She's there to make good pop music, not sell people this contrived image like she's some artistic person that writes everything she sings when she's not

First of all, she doesn't write her songs. Second of all, artistic integrity means doing music you like and enjoy, not releasing music to appeal to a certain crowd (like nicki, taylor and katy) do. Also, stop defending her, you're better than that

Rated R and Unapologetic but you're completely missing the point before like the 80's most artists both male and female didn't write their own songs but it doesn't mean that music today is superior. For example listen to Sinnerman listen to I Will Always Love You or Strange Fruit. The artistry of the singer overshadows the song itself. Its not the the way the song was written but the way the artist performs it.
