Eminem's strengths have never lied in him being the best ever lyricist, or having a great flow. They've always lied in him willing to go the extra mile, breaching topics than most of his other contemporaries are either afraid of, or would never even think of, breaching. He's much like Madonna was, in that respect. The only difference was that Madonna's intentions were mainly to get a rise out of her viewing public. With Eminem, these are the twisted, aberrant concepts that run through his mind, in as physical a form as they can get. I guess the only proper classification for him that would best fit would be as an artist of 'shock value'.
